Herbert "Cowboy" Coward, known for his role in Deliverance, tragically died in a car crash at 85. 

The collision occurred in Haywood County, North Carolina 

The crash happened when Cowboy was turning onto the highway and was hit by an oncoming truck driven by a 16-year-old. 

Both Cowboy and his girlfriend, Bertha Brooks killed due to collision.

Authorities reported that neither Cowboy nor Brooks were wearing seatbelts
